Average Price Calculator Guide
How to Use the Average Price Calculator
This calculator helps you determine your real average entry price after multiple buy orders of the same asset, while instantly showing total quantity and total cost.
First: What Does the Calculator Do?
Overview
- The calculator is designed for one asset at a time (such as BTC or a specific stock).
- You record each buy order for the same asset with its purchase price and quantity.
- At the bottom, it shows the average price, along with the total quantity and total cost.
You can use these results to identify better exit points or to know at which market price you break even.
Second: Entering Buy Trades
Table Input
- Click the Add Row + button to insert a new row.
- In each row:
– Enter the quantity you bought (e.g. 0.25).
– Enter the buy price for that quantity (e.g. 1100). - Repeat this step for every buy transaction of the same asset.
- To remove a specific trade, click the Delete button in the Action column.
Once quantity and price are entered, results update instantly without pressing any calculate button.
Third: Reading the Results
Instant Results
- Total Quantity: The sum of all quantities entered.
- Total Cost: The sum of (quantity × price) for all rows.
- Average Price (No Fees): Calculated automatically by dividing total cost by total quantity.
Total Quantity = Sum of quantities
Total Cost = Sum of (price × quantity)
Average Price = Cost ÷ Quantity
Note: The displayed value does not include trading fees. You may manually adjust for fees if needed.
Fourth: Clearing and Printing the Table
Extra Options
- Use Clear Average Rows to reset the calculator and remove all entries.
- The Print / Preview Table button lets you view and print the table or save it as a PDF.
This calculator is free for all users and is an essential tool for averaging entry prices.
